OUR STORY

Sacha has fond memories of beginning riding as a 4 years old at Pinewood studios with Captain Taylor. Here, she found her love for horses whilst being taken down to the fields on the back of the Captains bicycle for her lessons. She then went on to get her own pony and began helping at a Stud farm in Fulmer. Following this, Sacha bought Huggy, a 4 year old show jumper, who she brought on to compete in 3 day eventing at Advanced.

For all her help at the Stud, Sacha was offered the opportunity to train with Larceda Home at the Waterstock House training centre. This led on to training with David and Marion Mould on their show jumping yard.

During her years training as an eventer, Sacha groomed for Richard Walker and was trained by Eurine Brisner, Suzanna Collins and Robert LeMieux. Sacha took her first steps into the professional competitive arena when she entered the Young Riders 3 day event at Bramham at Advanced.
From there, Sacha spread her reach into the Showing Arena. Whilst working as a groom for Penny and John Rider Philipps, Sacha had the opportunity to train show hunters, as well as competing in working hunter and small riding horse classes.

Sacha also began her Dressage career at this time, when she returned to the Stud farm and was allowed to compete 2 of their horses to Advanced Medium and PSG.

AUSTENS FARM STABLES

In 2003, Sacha was asked to take on Austen’s Farm stables. She has spent the years since building the business as a successful competition yard. With acres of land and top facilities, the yard has been home to competition riders, retirees, youngsters and casual riders alike. Services also include exercising by our grooms and by Sacha herself, offering you expert talents and advice for you and your horse.

As well as providing the facilities needed to keep the horses happy, healthy and loved, Austens Farm Stables prides itself on offering a supportive and encouraging environment. With a team of grooms in every day, there is always someone to answer questions or offer help when needed. Whether it’s a question about the best care for your horse, or being lead round the arena on an excited horse, help and support is always available at Austens.

SACHA’S DRESSAGE CAREER

Since taking on the yard, Sacha’s passion for dressage has flourished. Her training history now includes taking multiple horses from novice to medium and beyond. Sacha has trained many of her own horses, including Active Dynamo, who Sacha trained from a 4 year old to syndicate to Grand Prix level, as well as competing him to Inter II. Sapphire was trained from a 4 year old to Inter II, as well as multiple horses that Sacha has trained to become para horses or who are competing at other homes up to Advanced.

Currently, Sacha is bringing on Carmen, who was bought as a 4 years old and is now competing at medium, having amassed multiple wins and qualifications. Sacha is hoping to continue to train her to Grand Prix level, as well as getting another horse to compete alongside her.

THANK YOU

Finally, Sacha would like to say a huge thank you to the people who have made this whole wonderful business work. Thank you to Jo and Mark Fowle, the amazing Austens staff, Simon Knapp, Anna Johnson, David Saw, Adam Walton with Bretherton Coachworks Ltd and our fantastic liveries. Without a team of dedicated people working hard towards a common goal, none of this could be possible. Team work makes the dream work.
